Opening "My Pictures" crashes the game

I cannot pass the catalog because every time I select a picture (through Google Photos or My Gallery) for the My Pictures thingy it crashes the game.

I'm using Android 4.4.2 on a Nexus 7, with the latest version of Little Inferno from Humble Bundle

Try to use the Tomorrow Corporation photos for now. It's a nasty bug that sometimes happens.

Did you get a message that says like "Little Inferno has stopped"?
If not, it's likely disposed by system in order to get better performance for the foreground task which is your gallery at this point. So try to kill all the other apps before launching Little Inferno in order to prevent that.
