This has been discussed before. We're currently working on making the game moddable (see this thread), so people can make their own mods/addins, as well as download and play others'. This will probably include new catalogues and items, even new stories, as well as a bunch of other unexpected things that I'm sure some creative people will come up with.
As for official DLC, it's possible, although personally I don't think it's likely. Well, at least not until the Mac and Linux ports are done.
Oh yeah, of course I forgot about the Wii U. In that case I do hope that they make some DLC, or possibly even choose some mods that are made here to be official DLC for the Wii U version.

Meh. I have the Wii U version, so modding isn't too much of an option. I just want more stuff to burn.
